Frequently Asked Questions

Is FreePicEdit really completely free? +
Yes β€” every tool is 100% free with no account, no watermarks, and no daily limits. We are supported by non-intrusive advertising through Google AdSense. You will never be charged for anything on FreePicEdit.
Are my images safe and private? +
Yes. Enhancement, resize, crop, convert, and compress tools all run entirely in your browser β€” your images never leave your device. Background removal sends images to an AI API for processing and they are immediately discarded. We do not store, analyze, or share your images.
What image formats are supported? +
FreePicEdit accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP images up to 25MB. Output formats: PNG (with transparency for background removal), JPG, and WebP. HEIC, BMP, TIFF and other formats need to be converted to JPG or PNG first before uploading.
Why does background removal sometimes give imperfect results? +
AI background removal works best on images with clear contrast between the subject and background. Complex images (hair against busy backgrounds, transparent objects, low-resolution photos) may require manual touch-up. For best results: use good lighting, a plain background, and high-resolution photos. See our Q&A Hub for detailed tips.
How do I resize an image to a specific file size in KB? +
Go to Resize & Tools, upload your image, select the "KB/MB" mode in the Resize tab, enter your target size, select KB or MB, and click Resize Image. The tool automatically adjusts compression quality to hit your target file size.
How quickly do you respond to messages? +
We aim to respond to all messages within 24–48 hours on business days. For common questions and tool help, our Q&A Hub with 1,000+ answers is usually faster than waiting for a reply.
